Save data Excel

You can expose a property of an equipment or a stream to Excel. To do this, each property or value should be identified by a unique name.

To establish a DDE link

Start apiMAX. Open Dilution model from Examples project.
Assign a unique name to the stream whose properties you want to expose.
Double click on the Pulp stream which enters the first dilution equipment. Set a unique name for the Pulp_Stream (S1 in this example).

Select the property you wish to expose to Excel. In this example is the Temperature. Right-click on it and press Copy.

Start Excel. Create a new file named apiMAXDilutionData.xls. Save this file in the folder Examples from apiMAX | Projects.
Select the destination cell in Excel. Right click on it and select Paste Special.
Check the options Paste Link in the Paste Special window and paste Text.
Press OK.

In the destination cell (B2 in the example shown) the value of the selected property appears.
Copy the values of other properties and paste them into Excel.

To save values in Excel

Change the values of the pulp stream.
Close Excel and reopen it. A dialog prompts the user whether to update the links in the sheet.
Select Update. The values from the apiMAX properties which are linked to excel are saved in the data sheet.
